Ebola Virus Scare in OAU Campus After a Female Student Complained Of High Fever!

The Obafemi Awolowo University campus is currently in a state of panic as the university's health centre has a suspected #Ebola patient in it's care.

The female student was said to have walked into the emergency room and told the doctor on duty that she had been in contact with the late Doctor's family that died in Port Harcourt about 2 weeks ago, she said that she had been in contact with the doctor's 3 month old baby.

She presented with stooling and vomiting which had been on for over 3 days now. Immediately there was a panic among the patients who all ran away on hearing the news. She was immediately taken and kept in the isolation ward, the community health unit has been fumigating the entire health centre for some hours now, arrangements have been made for her to moved to a treatment facility.

According to #Punch, more concentration was paid on areas where patients sit before being attended to.

It was also gathered that top officials of the hospital held an emergency meeting after testing the patient.

Though, medical officials in the hospital denied that the suspected student tested positive to EVD, they said the Federal Government Emergency Ebola Team has been contacted and an intensive examination by the EVD team from Lagos has been slated for Wednesday

“A patient was brought to the health centre and due to the fact that she lives in Port Harcourt, there were fears that it might be Ebola. We have carried out tests on the victim and found that she is suffering from fever. Not satisfied, we pressed further by holding an emergency meeting which ended about five minutes ago," an official said.

When asked why the hospital was disinfecting its surroundings, another official said, “We are only taking preventive measures. To be 100 per cent satisfied, we have sent a letter to the Ebola Emergency Team in Lagos and the team should arrive by tomorrow.”

At present, the female student is in the school premises undergoing several diagnosis.

Nigerian man quarantined in Hong Kong over Ebola.

A Nigerian man was quarantined today in Hong Kong after he showed Ebola-like symptoms during a trip to the city. The man who arrived Hong Kong from Lagos on Thursday August 7th via Dubai, was isolated in a hospital after severe vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea. He later tested negative for Ebola.

In a statement released today, the Southern Chinese city government said the 32 year old man, whose name was not given, had "tested negative for Ebola virus upon preliminary laboratory testing".

"In the past one month ... he had no contact history with sick persons or animals and did not visit health-are facilities. He is currently in stable condition." the statement read
Two weeks ago, the Hong Kong government said it would quarantine as a precaution all people from Ebola-infected areas who showed any symptom of the disease.

Remember that a Liberian citizen with Ebola was suspected in Obalende, Lagos. Now it is time for Hong Kong to welcome another Ebola citizen from Nigeria.

Zmapp, New Experimental Serum For Ebola Successfully Used On Spanish Priest.

75 year old Spanish priest who was infected with the Ebola virus in Liberia is being treated with the new experimental drug, Zmapp, which was used to treat two US missionary doctors infected with the virus.

The Spanish government claimed yesterday that the drug was imported from Geneva and doctors have begun to administer it on Fr. Miguel Pajares at Madrid’s La Paz-Carlos III hospital where he is in isolation.

The first person to be treated with the serum, Dr. Kent Brantly, saw his condition improve after being given Zmapp.

Since his treatment began, Fr. Pajares is said to be in stable condition, no longer has fever, and hasn't any hemorrhaging. Doctors believe that his condition will greatly improve in the coming days.

Whoopi Goldberg criticize Donald Trump After Terrible Ebola Virus Comments!

In what appears to be an open criticism by famous actress Whoopi Goldberg against Billionaire icon Donald trump, a lot has really been going through everyone's mind including EGNANO READERS, if Donald Trump is really himself.

Donald Trump gets schooled! Whoopi Goldberg slammed the business mogul on The View Monday, Aug. 4, after he made what she called "dopey" and "idiotic" comments about those infected by the Ebola virus.
Two American missionaries—Dr. Kent Brantly and health care employee Nancy Writebol—contracted the potentially fatal infection after treating patients overseas in Liberia. They were promptly brought back to the U.S. where they are currently being treated in isolation under the eye of the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trump, disgruntled that the Americans were even admitted back to the United States, took to his Twitter to lash out. "The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back," Trump tweeted on Aug. 1. "People that go to far away places to help out are great-but must suffer the consequences!"

The topic was brought up again the following day by Trump, only this time he beseeched the U.S. government to hear his plea. "The U.S. must immediately stop all flights from EBOLA infected countries or the plague will start and spread inside our 'borders.' Act fast!" he wrote. "The fact that we are taking the Ebola patients, while others from the area are fleeing to the United States, is absolutely CRAZY-Stupid pols."

Goldberg, noting that while she understood her pal Trump's perspective, schooled viewers on the actual ways the Ebola virus is spread. "I'm not defending him, but he is also a friend of mine, so I don't want to be disrespectful to him," Goldberg said. "But that was a stupid comment."

She explained that the virus "doesn't' carry in the wind" and is only spread through the mixing of bodily fluids. "Do your homework, Donald," she said. "Just do your homework.”
Trump continued his rant this week. "The bigger problem with Ebola is all of the people coming into the U.S. from West Africa who may be infected with the disease. STOP FLIGHTS!" he tweeted.

U.S. doctor infected with Ebola Virus Confirmed That His "Health Seems To Be Improving".

Before relocating his family from Texas to Liberia in 2013 to work in a clinic trying to help contain the Ebola virus epidemic, Kent Brantly gave a sermon in his hometown explaining his decision.
Dr. Brantly who inevitably caught the incurable and highly-deadly disease, gave religious reasons for his missionary trip.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the father-of-two 'seems to be improving', 24 hours after landing in Georgia from Liberia on Saturday for treatment.

Brantly was transferred, surrounded by high security to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, which is fitted out with one of the most sophisticated containment facilities in America.
He was pictured being helped out of a special ambulance in a hazmat suit and walking into the hospital.
Before Brantly went to Liberia last October, he returned to his hometown of Indianapolis and gave a sermon at the Southeastern Church of Christ.
'For two years we will live and work and serve among the people who, until the last 10 years of peace, had known nothing but the violence and devastation of war for the previous 20 years,' Brantly told the congregation.
'I've never been to Liberia.
'(I'm going) because God has a call on my life.'
'On difficult days, when I want to give up or when I wonder if I've made the right decision, retelling my story reminds me of how God has brought me to where I am.'
Brantly was able to meet with his wife, Amber, in protective conditions for 45 minutes after arriving in the country on Saturday.
According to Daily  Mail, She said he was in 'great spirits and extremely grateful' to be home according to a statement released on her behalf by the Christian charity Samaritan's Purse.
The doctor's sister, mother and father are also at the hospital and it was a 'relief to welcome him home', they said via the charity.
U.S. officials are confident that Brantly and a second patient - aid worker Nancy Writebol, who is expected to arrive in Atlanta on Tuesday- can be treated without putting the public in any danger.

Vitamin-D Has 10 Serious Side Effects on Your Health

Vitamin D, popularly known as the ‘sunshine vitamin’ is very much needed by the human body. It makes the bones stronger and healthy. But an overdose of this vitamin can lead to Vitamin D toxicity or hypervitaminosis D! This results in an abnormal increase in calcium levels in the blood. And this condition is known as hypercalcemea, which leads to many severe ailments.
Vitamin D is not an essential dietary vitamin as it can be synthesized in adequate quantity by humans when exposed to sunlight.
Apart from sunlight, there are many foods that are loaded with Vitamin D. This is a fat soluble vitamin, which makes it mandatory to consume fat for its absorption.
  • Fatty fish, fish oils, egg yolks, beef liver, some kind of mushrooms and cheese contain high amount of Vitamin D.
  • The human body can synthesize Vitamin D in the skin when exposed to adequate sunlight.
  • Low calorie fortified breakfast cereal like Multi grain Cheerios has enough Vitamin D content.
  • For vegetarians, mushrooms can be a perfect source of Vitamin D. Preferably, Portobello mushrooms and white button mushrooms contain Vitamin D in more quantity.
  • Dairy products, such as milk, cheese, yogurt and butter have adequate amounts of Vitamin D.
  • Fortified soy products, such as tofu and soy milk also contain high amount of Vitamin D.
  • Red and black caviar and oysters are also the recommended sources of Vitamin D.
  • Cod liver oil is known as the most popular Vitamin D supplement.
  • Other products like fortified orange juice and chocolate malt drink mixes also contain this vitamin.
  • Egg is another amazing and widely available source of Vitamin D. Egg yolks are loaded with Vitamin D, but they are also high in cholesterol content. So are not usually recommended.

Side Effects And Health Risks Of Vitamin D Consumption:

Vitamin D toxicity is not caused by overexposure to sun or food. It is the result of consuming heavy doses of Vitamin D supplements. Our body manages to regulate the quantity of Vitamin D produced by sun exposure. And food does not contain such high quantities of Vitamin D even if they are fortified. But, if you consume a too much of Vitamin D, you might experience the following side effects:

1. Hypervitaminosis D:

Though rare, this is one of the most serious health risks of Vitamin D overdose. One of the major side effects of Vitamin D overdose is that it increases the calcium level in the blood. This condition is also called hypercalcemia. It results in loss of appetite, nausea, weakness, urinary and kidney problems.

2. Worsens Kidney Condition:

Individuals who have liver or kidney conditions are at a greater risk of Vitamin D toxicity. So, take vitamin supplements only in consultation with a doctor.

3. Increases Cholesterol Level:

Vitamin D-rich foods, such as eggs, salami, cheese, whole milk, caviar and oysters are also high in cholesterol. It is important that these are consumed in moderate amounts.

4. Toxicity:

You may experience various symptoms due to Vitamin D toxicity. Some of the symptoms include headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, constipation, confusion, muscle or bone pain, weakness, loss of interest in sex, change in behavior, feeling irritable, fainting, pain in the stomach and metallic taste in the mouth.

5. Not Suitable For Heart Patients:

Individuals with heart diseases or stroke should abstain from Vitamin D-rich food. Excessive consumption of Vitamin D supplement can lead to risks of heart attack, heart arrhythmias or abnormal heart rhythm.

6. Allergic Reactions:

Vitamin D overdose can also cause allergic reaction in some people. Immediate medical help may be required in case of symptoms of any of the allergic reactions as difficulty in breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face.

7. Can Cause Kidney Stones:

Intake of excessive Vitamin D supplements may lead to polyuria and kidney stones

8. Can Lead to Digestive Issues:

Some other symptoms of Vitamin D toxicity may include dehydration, vomiting, fatigue, muscular weakness and metastatic calcification of the soft tissues.

9. Can Cause High Blood Pressure:

Excessive intake of Vitamin D can cause over calcification of heart and kidney. It can also lead to hypertension in extreme cases.

10. Other Side Effects:

Overdose of Vitamin D may also be responsible for symptoms like high levels of phosphate, calcium and protein in urine, urinating more than usual, ringing sensation in the ears, shortness of breath, seizure and vertigo.

Recommended Vitamin D Supplement Limits:

The US Institute of Medicine has detailed a tolerable upper level of Vitamin D supplement intake to protect against vitamin D toxicity.
  • 0 to 6 months: 25 µg (1000 IU)
  • 7 to12 months: 38 µg (1500 IU)
  • 1 to 3 years: 63 µg (2500 IU)
  • 4 to8 years: 75 µg (3000 IU)
  • 9+ years: 100 µg (4000 IU)
  • Pregnant and lactating females: 100 µg (4000 IU)
  • The recommended dietary allowance: 15 µg /d (600 IU per day).
  • Overdose: 1,925 µg / d (77,000 IU per day).
  • Acute Overdose: 15,000 µg / d (600,000 IU per day) and 42,000 µg / d (1,68,000 IU per day) taken for over a period of many days to months.
  • Safe level intake: 250 µg / d (10,000 IU per day).

Treatment For Vitamin D Toxicity:

The doctor may prescribe the following treatments, if you are suffering from Vitamin D toxicity:
  • Discontinuation of Vitamin D supplements immediately.
  • Temporarily lowering the intake of dietary calcium.
  • Use of corticosteroids or bisphosphonates to suppress the release of calcium from bones.
  • Monitoring of Vitamin D levels until it reverts back to normalcy.

A Word Of Caution:

It is advisable to see your doctor immediately on experiencing any symptoms of hypervitaminosis D. While there are many symptoms associated with vitamin D toxicity, the most commonly associated conditions includes excessive thirst, polyuria which lead to frequent urination and high blood pressure.
The doctor may advise the following pathological tests if you suffer Vitamin D toxicity:
  • Blood tests to check levels of Vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus.
  • A urine test to determine excessive amount of calcium in the urine.
  • X rays of bones to determine the intensity of bone loss.
Just because something is good for our body does not mean we need to binge on it! Our body needs limited amounts of Vitamin D. So, make sure you include Vitamin D supplements only under medical supervision.

Diabetics Can’t Eat Banana? Why It is a Blatant Lie!

Diabetes is one of those chronic metabolic disorders, which account for lots of deaths around the world each year. Medical science has come a long way and several advanced medications have been invented to manage both type-I and type-II diabetes efficiently. But people are yet to make the most of them because of their little to no knowledge in this field. There are quite a few myths about the ailment. Knowing the actual fact can truly help you a lot in combating diabetes successfully. Today, we will talk about the relationship between diabetes and banana and reveal the truth, whether a diabetic can indulge in this superfood or not. Let’s start:

“Diabetics Can’t Eat Banana” – The Myth Busted:

Wrong. It is nothing but a misconception that has long been keeping diabetics away from the fruit. The truth is that bananas are absolutely safe for diabetics till they consume it in moderation and skip the overripe ones. Banana is a healthy fruit, even for people with diabetes. But, as the carbohydrate content and the glycemic index of overripe bananas may cause significant sugar spikes in our blood, many people end up believing that eating the fruit can aggravate their condition. However, consumption of under ripe bananas and that too in small portions all throughout the day is actually a good choice as it does not impact a person’s blood sugar level.

Carbohydrate Concern:

Eating more fruits means filling our body with lots of carbohydrates. Bananas are also not out of the loop. The carbohydrate content of an overripe banana actually represents free sugars and hence, results in diabetes. But scientists have shown that almost 90% carbohydrates present in a not-so-ripe banana is derived from starch, which do not raise our blood sugar levels. So, if you are a diabetic, indulging in under ripe bananas in between your meals will not harm you.

Glycemic Index Concern:

Similarly, green or under ripe bananas have much lower glycemic index than their overripe counterparts. As a result, they do not cause spikes in our blood sugar level and are safe for diabetics.

How To Include Banana In A Diabetic Diet?

Eating an extra-small banana (maximum 6-inches in length) or the half of a large banana during each meal is recommended for diabetics. According to dieticians, the carbohydrate intake of a patient with type-II diabetes should strictly be in between 45 and 60 grams for each meal, while a banana of this size gives only 19 grams of it.
The meal of a diabetic must be a perfect balance of fruits and starchy food. So, while including an extra-small under ripe banana, make sure that you do not take starch items more than one-fourth of your entire meal.
You can follow the ‘Create your Plate’ method invented by the American Diabetes Association to live on an ideal diabetic diet. For this, you have to consider your plate as two separate halves. Now, fill one half of it with non-starchy, low-carb veggies and the other half with starchy ones, lean protein, milk and an extra-small banana.

Facts To Remember:

Remember the below facts while consuming banana:
  • Try to spread your carbohydrate intake throughout the day so that the level of glucose remains normal in your bloodstream. It is always good to eat banana in very small portions in between your meals or snacks.
  • Do not ever include bananas in a dessert if you are diabetic. Foods containing sugary syrups will not only cause sugar spikes in your blood, but also worsen the situation to a great extent.
  • Keep a close eye on your blood sugar levels. It is of utmost importance that you monitor it regularly to avoid all sorts of emergencies.
So, if you are suffering from diabetes, you can definitely consume bananas, but please do remember the points mentioned above!
Stay healthy and blessed!

Losing Weight Too Fast May Lead To Muscle Loss.

Study volunteers eating 500 calories a day lost more muscle than those eating more than twice as much.
If you lose weight too fast, you lose more muscle than when you shed excess pounds more slowly, a small study says.
The researchers put 25 participants on a five-week very-low-calorie diet of just 500 calories per day. Another 22 volunteers went on a 12-week low-calorie diet of 1,250 calories per day.
The investigators found that right after the end of their diets, both groups had similar levels of weight loss. The average weight loss was a little over 19 pounds among those on the very-low-calorie diet and just under 19 pounds among those on the low-calorie diet.
The researchers then looked at the loss of fat-free mass, which includes all the tissue in the human body, except fat. The major tissues are blood, bones, organs and muscles. However, the mass of the organs, blood and bones does not change during dieting. Therefore, changes in fat-free mass during dieting are mainly due to changes in muscle mass.
Participants on the very-low-calorie diet had lost about 3.5 pounds of fat-free mass, compared with 1.3 pounds among those on the low-calorie diet. Fat-free mass accounted for 18 percent of weight loss in the very-low-calorie diet group and 7.7 percent of weight loss in the low-calorie diet group, the study found.
Four weeks after the end of their diets, reductions in fat-free mass averaged 1.8 pounds among those in the very-low-calorie diet group and 0.7 pounds among those in the low-calorie diet group. Fat-free mass accounted for 9.4 percent of weight loss in the very-low-calorie diet group and 2.9 percent of weight loss in the low-calorie diet group, according to the report.
The findings were presented Wednesday at the European Congress on Obesity in Bulgaria.
"Loss of fat-free mass was higher after rapid than slow diet-induced weight loss with similar total weight loss," said the study's authors, Roel Vink and Marleen van Baak, of the School for Nutrition, Toxicology and Metabolism at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and colleagues.
However, the authors also pointed out in a meeting news release that muscle loss among people in the very-low-calorie diet was likely overestimated immediately after they completed the diet, compared with four weeks later.
This is likely because they had a larger loss of water and glycogen (a natural form of sugar in the body) when they had just completed the diet than four weeks later, the researchers explained.

Research presented at meetings should be viewed as preliminary until it is published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.

4 Effective Home Remedies To Treat Pimples Under The Skin.

"Pimples" an enemy to beauty is one word I hate to say, but inadvertently, it is something that can affect anyone even if your generation may not have it. Its second cousin under the skin pimples is far dangerous and terrible. At least with a pimple on the surface, you can see it, use cuss words and make gang signs at it but what do you do with pimples under the skin. They grow below the surface without visible pores. Although mostly painless, in some cases they hurt badly. We've all had an episode with stubborn pimples under the skin. The causes are varied and confusing. Fortunately, the prevention and treatment is mostly simple.

Home Remedies Treat Under The Skin Pimples:

There are several home remedies to get rid of under the skin pimples. Most of them are easily available and won’t pinch your wallet.

1. Epsom Salt:

Epsom salt is one of the cheapest and most convenient ways of treating under the skin pimples. Magnesium sulphate in the Epsom salt is considered as an anti inflammatory agent, which helps to treat the acne. Soak a wash cloth in a solution of Epsom salt and warm water. Use the cloth as a warm compress for your face. Do this 3 or 4 times a day. Epsom salt kills bacteria and purges toxins. It is also useful to control the oiliness that causes acne.

2. Essential Oils:

Tea tree oil and lavender oil are amazing to treat under the skin pimples. Most beauty creams and anti ageing lotions contains generous amounts of tea tree oil and lavender oil. Dab a little oil on a tissue or ear bud and apply directly. Leave it on overnight. Tea tree oil and lavender oil have antibacterial properties that reduce inflammation and redness.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar when applied directly on the pimple reduces redness. Do this sparingly, maybe once a day. Vinegar of any kind is acidic and could be harsh for your skin. Do not apply undiluted apple cider vinegar to the entire face. Only apply a little bit of it on the stubborn pimple once a day.

4. Green Tea:

Brew some strong green tea and freeze it in the ice compartment. Apply it directly on the pimple. Providing a soothing effect to the skin, it reduces the redness.

Causes Of Under The Skin Pimples:

Some beauty experts believe that hair products that seep into your skin can cause adult acne and under the skin pimples. When using any kind of hair product, be sure to use the applicator or brush. Wipe off the product that tends to keep dribbling on your forehead with a baby wipe, preferably a non-alcohol based one. Another connected and infamous cause of under the skin pimples is your hairstyle. Fringes and bangs are so hot right now but they could be the cause of all that acne on your forehead. The constant irritation to the skin on your forehead caused by your fringe increases soreness and redness. When having a terrible time with acne, clip your bangs and notice the immediate difference.
While travelling, your skin is already exposed to several changes in the weather and humidity. This causes skin damage. Several people complain of under the skin pimples after returning from a fabulous beach vacation. To minimize skin damage during vacations, use only bottled water to wash your face. Tap water may contain impurities that cause irritation to your already sensitive skin. Remember to use scarf and sunglasses when you are outdoors. Always keep your skin clean and moisturised.

If You Have Bad Breath, Try These Practical Ways To Have Good Oral Health.

They say that a smile is the most beautiful thing a woman possesses; one that can bring the whole armies down to their knees. So, are you taking care of that precious smile? Good oral hygiene not only adds beauty to your smile but also keeps the gum and mouth infections away.
WHO defines oral health as, “a state of being free from chronic mouth and facial pain, oral and throat cancer, oral sores, birth defects, such as cleft lip and palate, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth decay and tooth loss, and other diseases and disorders that affect the oral cavity”.

Common Symptoms of Bad Oral Health:
Bad breath
Sore, swollen and bleeding gums
Deposits of plaque and tartar or your teeth
Receding gums
Toothache and sensitive teeth
Preventive Care For Good Oral Health:
You need to keep in mind the following necessary things for good oral health:

1. Brushing:
Brush your teeth twice a day. But if you eat small, frequent meals in a day, then twice is not enough. It can lead to plaque buildup, which causes cavities and other gum diseases. So try to brush thrice a day for better hygiene.
Brushing your teeth properly in the correct way is important. Brush the outside (front part), inside (back part) and chewing side of each of your teeth thoroughly by moving the brush in a circular motion. Keep the motions gentle otherwise you might harm your enamel.
It takes 2 minutes brushing time to remove all the bacteria.

2. Tongue Cleaning:
Have you ever noticed the white coating on your tongue when you wake up in the morning? That whiteness is the accumulated toxin. Even Ayurveda points out the importance of cleaning the tongue to get rid of that whiteness. It not only keeps your mouth healthy but affects your overall health.
Many dentists now suggest the use of tongue scrapers for cleaning the tongue. It successfully removes the stubborn anaerobic bacteria collected in the mouth.
Proper technique of using a tongue scraper is to hold the scraper on both the ends. Then extend your tongue outside. Now put it as far back on your tongue as you can with triggering any gag reflex and scrape it forward removing the white toxic coating. Do it gently so as to not harm your tongue.

3. Flossing:

Flossing is important and we know it, right? But how many of us actually floss our teeth daily? Not many! Floss your teeth properly once a day. It cleans the sides of the teeth. It also cleanses the food that gets stuck between the teeth, which if not cleaned may lead to tooth decay.
To floss your teeth, use 18’’ floss and gently following the curves of your teeth, clean the area along the gum line.

4. Dental Check-up:
Go to a good dentist for regular dental check-ups and clean-ups. These clean-ups further reduce the chances of any diseases but even then if you get any disease your dentist will detect it early to treat it effectively.

5. Some Tips:
For strong teeth and gums, rub a mixture of mustard oil and salt on your teeth and gums daily. Using a small amount, first check whether it triggers any allergy or causes any new ache.
Rock salt is good for black and weak gums.
Brushing your teeth gently with baking soda and lemon juice mixture can get you whiter teeth.
Change your tooth brush after every 3-4 months.
Use a toothpaste containing fluoride.
Tea contains flavonoids and fluoride, which prevent the bacteria from sticking to teeth.
Include tooth-cleaning foods in your diet. These foods are also known as ‘detergent’ foods in the dental care world. Examples of these foods are apple, grape, carrot, peer, and strawberries. These fruits also keep our teeth strong.
The oil-cleaning method with sesame oil cleanses all the toxic substances from the mouth according to Ayurveda. Put some sesame oil in your mouth and swish it all around for 10-15minutes.
Dark chocolate is said to benefit the tooth enamel by making it stronger.
Use mouth rinses that fight bacteria. It should be anti-plaque and should contain fluoride as it helps to deal with problems like dry mouth, bad breath to keep the mouth bacteria free.
Keep cardamom (ilaichi) or saunf with you as they are natural breath fresheners. They also prevent accumulation of bacteria after eating.
You know how earlier it was believed that old age results in falling of tooth and other tooth and gum diseases? Well now that myth is busted and science tells us that with proper oral health care, you can keep your smile pretty right till the end!

Do you follow these oral health care steps? Do you have anything to add? Do share with us in the comments section.

Life is Precious.Never buy an Expired Gas Cylinder.

Do you know that there is an expiry date (physical life) for LPG cylinders? Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard, please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from any gas cylinder vendor.
Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:
On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. D14.
The alphabets stand for quarters -
1. A for March (First Qtr),
2. B for June (Second Qtr),
3. C for Sept (Third Qtr),
4. D for December (Fourth Qtr).
The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D14 would mean December qtr of 2014.
Please Return Back the Cylinder that you get with a Expiry Date, they are prone to Leak and other Hazardous accidents
The second example with D17 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2017.

Kindly pass this to every one and create awareness.

Life has not got a duplicate.

Amazing Fact About Aloe Vera On Your Skin.

It would be prudent and useful to simply grow Aloe at home since this plant can cure nearly any dermatology-related issue. Otherwise, Aloe leaves are easily available at supermarkets. Aloe works as an anti-inflammatory agent. Cut the green layers off the leaf and you are left with a transparent, slimy, gel-like substance. In a bowl, mash this gel with your fingers as best as you can. Then apply this on your face and hair, and keep it on for about ten minutes or till it’s dry. Then, wash off. This can be the best face wash for oily skin.

Men With Sperm, Semen Defects May Die Early.

Men rendered infertile due to defects in their semen and sperm are more likely to die early than men with normal semen, new research suggests.
Over a period of about eight years, men with two or more abnormalities in their semen had a risk of death that was more than double that of men with healthy semen, researchers reported in the May 16 online issue of Human Reproduction.
Knowing this, doctors who treat men for infertility should advise them to adopt healthy habits that might boost their survival, said lead author Dr. Michael Eisenberg, assistant professor of urology and Stanford University School of Medicine's director of male reproductive medicine and surgery.
"There may be a window of opportunity here. When they see their doctor they could do some other things that might benefit them," Eisenberg said. "I see this as an opportunity to pay more attention to your health and be more proactive."
For the study, Eisenberg and his colleagues reviewed the medical records of about 12,000 men aged 20 to 50 who had visited either the Stanford University School of Medicine or the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to be evaluated for possible infertility.
At both clinics, doctors had recorded information on patients' semen quality, such as total semen volume, sperm counts, sperm movement and shape. The researchers compared patient data with death records to track the men's death rates, while taking into account for underlying health issues that could compromise semen quality.
While no single semen abnormality in itself predicted early death, men with two or more such abnormalities had 2.3 times the risk of death during the study period than those with no semen abnormalities. The greater the number of abnormalities, the higher the risk of death, the study found.
Low semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm activity, total sperm count and the total count of active sperm specifically were associated with a higher risk. Abnormally shaped sperm did not appear to be linked to increased risk of death during the study follow-up.
"This striking increased death rate in men with abnormal semen parameters highlights the urgency and need to investigate the causes of male infertility and not to just proceed with assisted reproductive technologies," said Dr. Natan Bar-Chama, director of male reproductive medicine and surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
Bar-Chama, who was not involved with the study, added that "it is equally important to identify potential modifiable causes of male infertility that could be acted upon and subsequently decrease this increased mortality rate."
It's important to keep in mind that this study wasn't designed to prove that semen abnormalities lead to a higher rate of death, only to show there is an association between these factors.
